You are probably well aware that there are several different kinds of personality profiles you can take. After taking these tests, the results will put you into a personality profile type. But does it truly allow you to know your profile profile after completing the test?
After all, there are several different tests that could completely change your profile type. The assumption is regardless of what questions you are asked, your profile type will be the same. But what if there are certain parts of you that differ greatly and that is what you are tested on. This could drastically change what group you are put into.
Another problem is that there are different profile types on the internet as well. One of the most popular tests on the internet is the Myers-Briggs tests, which is based off of sixteen types. These types are determined by surface traits and supposedly can give you extremely accurate results.
Another fairly popular test is a personality self-portrait, which measures the fourteen types that are based on psychiatric disorders as listed in Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. This test has been extensively empirically tested, but it is far different than the Myers-Briggs tests.
If that were not enough, there are several tests that are based on the Big Five personality traits. Because of this, it is extremely difficult to accurately and truly know your personality profile type. You could answer the exact same questions the exact same way in the Myers-Briggs tests and the personality self-portrait, but be placed in different profile types. So, unfortunately we will never completely know what profile type we are.
